Why are we so obsessed with rebranding?

It’s nearly 2026 so I’m sure we’ll see posts about people gearing up for their rebrand. Get your Pinterest and vision boards out, it’s time to reinvent ourselves!
Now don’t get me wrong, I love a fresh start more than the next person. And being a Life Design Coach, I encourage people to evolve. But the deeper I get into this work, I’ve realised it’s less about ripping it all up and starting again, it’s about meeting yourself where you are at and designing from there.
When it comes to Life Design, the self exploration work is key and more often than not, I see people returning to who they are, rather than who the world told them to be. It’s less about carving a complete new identity but getting clear on the one you already have.
So this year, instead of overhauling your whole life, I urge to audit your current one. Figure out what’s working and what’s not. Double down on your strengths and ditch the things that are holding you back.
Each version of the iPhone isn’t THAT different from the previous one, it’s an upgrade, another iteration, with better features sure but everything else is cohesive.
Maybe instead of reinventing ourselves, it’s time to refine ourselves.
